TORY D "THE LIFE" COMING 2012

“Tory D is an underdog who takes anything and makes it into something”, Tory D proclaims. This statement is mired in the truth. Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Tory D always had a knack for creating music. A lover of music from the start, he began writing rap lyrics at the young age of 10.

At just 16, he released his own album, and it spread like wildfire amongst his peers and throughout his neighborhood, selling 6,000 units independently. Taking the initiative to start his music career at such young age, Tory D proved with effort and vision he could accomplish great things.

Tory D has always been one to think outside of the box. For this reason, at age 19, he moved out of Texas and came to California to widen his opportunities. After an initial stint in the Hip Hop community, he was able to find his true destined musical genre – Electronic Dance Music. The Electro Album, “Hyperkrush” by EDK, had absolutely captivated his interest musically. From then on, he knew that Electronic Dance Music was his calling. He used Facebook to find likeminded producers of dance music that would be interested in his rap lyricism to accompany their works. This was the initial start that was the catalyst for things to come.

Tory D has gone on to work with the likes of Donald Glaude, DJ Bam Bam, Paul Anthony, Lazy Rich, Rob G, Kelevra and many, many more. His releases are notorious for climbing the Beatport Top 100 charts, often reaching the top 10 downloaded tracks. His mere vocal and lyrical presence on a track seems to be the recipe for the work’s success. This in itself is a testimony to Tory D’s brilliance as a lyricist and songwriter. He believes in the functionality of lyrics in the electronic dance genre, and through his work, hopes to promote their utility within dance music. Tory D is also affiliated with numerous labels, including Fly House, Big Fish Recordings, and Sick Slaughterhouse Recordings.

A man of many projects, Tory D always has the next big thing coming down the pipeline for himself. He currently has projects with DJ Bam Bam, Donald Glaude, and DJ Hirshee, as well as an upcoming collaboration with Ivan Miranda and Tall Rick on Robbie Rivera’s Juicy Music label. Tory D will also put his own stamp on the music world by coming out with his own EP with Fast Foot on Sick Slaughterhouse Recordings this Fall. He presently performs at various events around Northern California, and looks forward to booking more performance dates in the near future.

Tory D’s ability to transform music into successful works that people want to listen to can be attributed to his talents as both a songwriter and performer. Never content to remain at the bottom, Tory D has become a top featured MC, and is aiming to prove to live audiences just why producers love to work with him. Whether featured on a track or performing a show, Tory D is an artist that brings his top game to the stage time and time again, keeping fans hyped and utterly begging for more.
